In the heart of the forest, the members of the B.L.U.S.H. collective enter a space filled with digital waste, immersed in a soundscape where the digital and nature merge. The performers, all wearing opaque glasses that obstruct their vision, step into this chaotic arena to undertake actions that evoke both a careful cleaning and a blind archaeological investigation. Highlighting the complex and problematic relationships that humans have with digital technologies and the environment, this ecofeminist work — filmed somewhat like a wildlife documentary — invites the viewer to a performance in a terrain that is otherwise difficult to access.
Collectif B.L.U.S.H
The B.L.U.S.H. collective is composed of visual artists Annie Baillargeon and Isabelle Lapierre, and of sound designer, musician and composer Marie-Hélène Blay. His multimedia approach to action art gives rise to performances, video works, installations and sound works. Since 2015 their creations have been presented in various events and exhibitions in Canada, France, Serbia, Germany and Argentina. The creators of B.L.U.S.H. have extensive experience in performance in the collective Les Fermières Obsédées (2001 to 2014) as co-founder (Annie Baillargeon) and members (Isabelle Lapierre, Marie-Hélène Blay, 2009 to 2014). This group, who inspired indiscipline to the action art genre, presented its work during various festivals and events in Quebec and Canada, as well as in France, Australia, Wales, Poland, Northern Ireland, United States and Serbia.
