Promoter of intercultural dialogue, the Art Mirror Cultural Association aims to transmit knowledge about design and sustainable art and provide a model of good practice regarding the art of the future and sustainable development, contributing to encouraging research and innovation in the field. The Art Mirror Association, was founded in 2016 in Cluj – Napoca, with the aim of promoting the concept of sustainable art and conscious design, while raising awareness of the importance of a circular economy and regenerative practices, in the fight against change climatic. By testing unconventional techniques and recycling methods, we have developed an amazing and ever-growing community of artists passionate about sustainable design. An important aspect of the association’s activity is the collection of materials considered waste and later they are processed and conceptualized in artistic installations with the role of AWARENESS. The Art Mirror Association represented Romania at the 2023 London Design Biennale – “London Design Biennale”, which took place at Somerset House between June 1-25, 2023, a complex and innovative project focused on sustainable design and research was implemented, admired by approximately 200,000 people. The “London Design Biennale” represents the global stage for world-class contemporary design for innovation, creativity and design research. Theme of the edition was “Remapping Collaborations”. Participants from around the world were invited to imagine and implement new forms of international cooperation and participation, including with each other, through design. The Art Mirror Association exhibited the ,,Vatra Verde’’ curatorial project, representing a reinterpretation of the traditional Romanian hearth. It is an artistic and interactive installation created from sustainable, collected and recycled materials. Reminiscent of Constantin Brâncusi’s “Table of Silence”, we proposed a relaxation and discussion area, around a living installation, where visitors have the opportunity to contemplate, meditate, discuss and create new possibilities for artistic collaboration with social impact.
