This project is the result of cross-disciplinary research merging painting and technology. It employs CG-generated 3D scenes to create a virtual ruin, where painting elements are deconstructed and dramatically reimagined. Positioned within a post-human context and integrated with advanced visual technologies, traditional painting elements are reshaped into digital forms, constructing an entirely virtual 3D visual system. This intervention broadens the work’s scope beyond conventional virtual imagery, expanding its narrative through diverse visual motifs in video format. The project also explores themes of art authority, the Internet’s global influence, image archiving, and technological mysticism. Furthermore, its video structure embodies the artist’s “Image Field” concept, creating an open viewing space where historical materials and modern visuals interact in a tension between the virtual and reality. The dual-screen version exemplifies this idea, transforming multiple screens into an expansive, almost limitless field capable of accommodating ever more images.
