The Inflovable Machine is a giant, colorful air-powered musical instrument. Made of large inflatable balloons and funky tubes, it lets the public create sounds and control movement by simply blowing. Each of the eight tubes senses when you blow, activating the system that inflate and deflate the balloons while producing unique sounds—like a living air organ! The harder you blow, the bigger the balloons grow and the louder the music plays. At the front of the instrument, three buttons allow you to change how the sounds behave, switching between different playful moods. Alone or with others, you can experiment with rhythms, shapes, and sounds, turning air into a magical musical experience. The Inflovable Machine invites everyone to explore music, movement, and teamwork in a fun, interactive way. What kind of song will you create? Breathe in, blow out, and let the air do the magic!
Mónica Rikić
Mónica Rikić is an electronic artist from Barcelona. Her proposals merge technology and philosophy through art, creating technological artifacts that are not driven by functionality or productivity, but by the desire to build critical devices that provoke collective thinking and discussion. Formally, her practice involves producing handmade electronic objects and robots, which perform different concepts from her research, presenting themselves as theatrical devices. Through these devices, she aims to offer experiences that encourage alternative ways of thinking about technologies, robotics, and open hardware. Over the past decade, her projects have been exhibited at CCCB, La Capella, and international festivals such as Ars Electronica, Creative Tech Week, and Robotronica. She has been awarded with the National Culture Award of Catalonia, a BBVA Foundation Grant and her work has been recognized with different jury selections at contests such as Japan Media Arts Festival, Guthman Musical Instrument Competition and AMAZE. She has participated in two European S+T+ARTS residencies, and her works are part of the National Contemporary Art Collection of Catalonia and collections like .NewArt {foundation;} and DKV.
