Fly To You is an immersive VR Cine Poem exploring the lifelong heartbreak of family separation caused by the Korean War. Following 85-year-old Kang Song-jeol, who lost contact with her older sister Saetbyeol over seventy years ago, it captures her poignant memories and enduring hope for reunion. Using volumetric capture and NeRF technology, Fly To You reconstructs the landscapes, sounds, and fragrances of Kang’s North Korean hometown, transporting viewers beyond physical and political barriers. Recognized by international immersive showcases such as Raindance Immersive, Kaohsiung Film Festival, and SXSW XR, this evocative experience reveals the deep human toll of geopolitics, urging empathy and reflection on the universal pain of separation.
