The city of Dresden and its Gothic architecture served as inspiration for this electronic soundscape. The original composition was designed as a quadraphonic speaker installation with a live electric guitar performance by Giorgos Bokos himself. The piece was first performed at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, Germany, in May 2003 during an Electroacoustic Music Symposium. Every sound in the composition was created through extensive processing of classical and electric guitar recordings at the University of Dresden’s studio, aiming to sonically convey the atmosphere of the city after sunset. The work “Dreselctric City” was later reprocessed and mixed for stereo playback, the version presented at ADAF 2025. The “craft tree” featured in the video is an artwork by Apostolos Chasiotis, while the video was curated by Giannis Nikolopoulos. It was included in the EP titled VOKOZ “Atmos”, released in 2022 by Volcanic Music.
