To deconstruct is to analytically undo something in order to give it a new structure. Deconstruction in green is a piece that fragments landscapes, vegetation and structures to generate new visual and sound territories. In it, abstract and figurative images coexist, derived from an existing nature, intertwined in an unprecedented space of relations. The predominant use of the colour green, together with the arrangement and manipulation of sound, arouses the viewer’s curiosity to discover what underlies each shot. An enigmatic scream erupts as a climax, intensifying the mysterious atmosphere and enhancing the dialogue between the real and the dreamlike.
Carmen Isasi
Carmen Isasi is a multidisciplinary artist who incorporates new media and languages into her work as new projects and works demand it. She graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in painting, from the University of the Basque Country and held her first exhibitions in Bilbao. In the 1990s she moved to Madrid, where she currently lives, to study for a Master’s degree in Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts at the Universidad Autónoma. In her work she has progressively integrated new materials and media, such as video, installations, performances, and more recently, virtual reality and sound installations. Her most recent projects address: on the one hand, the issue of migration, focusing on the abandonment to which migrants are subjected, and on the other, the affective, symbolic, digital or even posthuman relationships that we currently establish with nature. She has held numerous exhibitions and participated in national and international festivals.
